Welcome to Dexter Community School's Home Page for the Board of Education. We hope this area of our website will provide you with all the information you need to know about the role of the Board in the life of Dexter Schools and what you can do to work with us to continue the strong legacy of learning here in Dexter.

The formal foundation and guidelines for the board are contained in Michigan laws and regulations and locally in policies that have been approved by the board. I encourage you to be familiar with those basic building blocks that are available online through the links on this page.

Beyond those formal statutes, however, is the personal relationship that we, the board, have with the community and the district. We understand that we serve at the pleasure of our community, those who have voted to make us their representatives. While we know we've been empowered to make decisions as a board, we need to know your thoughts. If you go to the "Meet the Board" page you will find email addresses for each board member. Please feel free to contact us to let us know your thoughts. If you desire a response, let us know that too.

The strength of Dexter is it's people. From the parents who instill the character and desire for learning in their children, to the community members who show their value for learning through their contributions in time and money, to the businesses who promote the outstanding work of our students, to the staff and teachers who put it all together each day - it won't work without all of us pulling together to achieve that single vision for Dexter's children, to "Champion Learning - Develop, Educate, and Inspire!" The board and the rest of the State of Michigan believe we are doing a remarkable job - let's work together to continue that legacy.
