Regularly, the Michigan Department of
Education is required by federal regulation to conduct Nutrition

standards set by the USDA. This review includes a computerized analysis
of the menu for key nutrients. Benefit limits have changed. You may not have qualified in the past, but you may now qualify. Millions of students participate in the National School Lunch Program every day. Free and reduced price benefits are available to us from the Federal Government. We welcome applications at any time during the school year. If you think you may qualify, please fillout the appropriate form. Applications are sent home with every student at the beginning of the school year, generally on the first dayof instruction. They are also available on line, in the school cafeterias and in the school offices. Finance is a very personal matter and your application will be handled with confidentiality and respect.
