Athletics
The Dexter Athletics Department oversees middle school and high school sports as well as general athletic/fitness training for interested students.
Business Office
The Business Office handles accounts payable and receivable, payroll and benefits, Worker's Compensation claims, retirement, bids and RFPs, student activity/athletic team fund accounts, and property disposition.
Communications
The Communications Office promotes Dexter Schools programs via multimedia print, email, and online posts and videos. The Communications Office also coordinates the District's automated communications system, Blackboard, and receives FOIA requests.
Community Education
Community Education provides early childhood and preschool programs, care programs for school-age children, facility rentals, and enrichment classes for all ages.
Curriculum
The Curriculum Department encompasses Student Support Services including English Language Learners, Reading Intervention, Section 504, and Homeless/Transient Student services, as the Instructional Support Team.
Facilities
The Facilities Department maintains DCS buildings, fields, and playgrounds.
Food & Nutrition
Dexter Food and Nutrition provides healthful breakfast, lunch and snack options for Dexter students during the school year, as well as summer Meet Up and Eat Up free meals for children 18 years of age and under or persons up to age 26 who are enrolled in an educational program for the mentally or physically disabled that is recognized by a State or local public educational agency. The meals are provided without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, or disability, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service.
Human Resources
Dexter Community Schools Human Resources Office handles hiring, training, and evaluation for all staff.
Special Education
DCS Special Education serves more than 430 students with disabilities in seven schools. We have 55 staff including resource room teachers, teacher consultants, social workers, speech therapists, psychologists, occupational therapists, and physical therapists. They work in collaboration with general education teachers to coordinate curriculum objectives, introduce and monitor accommodations and modifications, and to identify alternative teaching strategies that meet the educational recommendations of each student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP).
Technology
The Technology Department assists with all facets of technology use in the district: devices for students and staff, internet access and controls, software implementation and training, school emails and email groups, printers and copiers, building access fobs, and general technology needs.
Transportation
The DCS Transportation provides safe, efficient transportation to and from school for all student who live within the Dexter Community Schools district, as well as transporting students for field trips and athletic events.
