Hello Mill Creek Families,
The first week of school is in the books. Many families shared that this seemed like a long three and a half days. The first week of school and making the transition from summer for families can be a rough one. Please reiterate with your children that we are really patient these first couple of weeks as everyone gets back to the new normal.
The biggest news on the Mill Creek front is that 7th grade camp is just on the horizon. This is a long running tradition at Mill Creek and would not be possible without the incredible hard work of Marianne Mutschler. Marianne works year round getting ready for camp. She spends much of her summer meeting with families and making last minute adjustments. On behalf of the Dexter Community, we want to extend a big thank you to Marianne Mutschler! If you see her in town, please say “Thank You”!
I also want to highlight all of the parent volunteers and Mill Creek staff that will be going out to camp next week and helping to make the whole thing “go”. You are very much appreciated.
Please reference Marianne's camp emails if you have a 7th grader going to camp next week. A reminder that 7th graders should not ride the bus to school or arrive at normal drop off time on Monday. Buses cannot fit the luggage and passengers together on a regular school bus. 7th graders should not arrive at Mill Creek any earlier than 8:30 AM on Monday.
During camp week, I will send out some updates of what activities kids are engaged in and the overall vibe of the week. Stay tuned!
Have a great weekend!
