Creekside Newsletter 12-14-2025

As we head into our final week before winter break, we want to take a moment to thank you for your continued support, partnership, and encouragement. This time of year is always full of excitement, energy, and reflection, and we are so proud of the growth and hard work we’ve seen from our students this semester.

Next week will be a wonderful mix of learning, celebration, and community. Please keep an eye out for any classroom updates, special activities, and reminders from teachers. We appreciate your help in keeping students rested, prepared, and ready to finish the week strong.

We hope your upcoming winter break is filled with rest, joy, and time with loved ones. Thank you for being an important part of the Creekside community—we look forward to an inspiring start to the new year together.

Warmly,
The Creekside Team

Attention 6th Grade Parents - Info for 7th Grade Camp

Dear 6th Grade Parent(s)/Guardian(s),

It is hard to believe it is already time to start planning for your students' 7th grade camp experience! 7th Grade camp is a Mill Creek tradition that dates back over 40 years. Each fall we take all 7th graders to YMCA Storer Camp in Napoleon Michigan. It is a full week, overnight experience that is a highlight of many students K-12 Educational Experience. With a trip like 7th grade camp, there are sure to be a lot of questions. In order to share information with you, we will be holding an informational meeting on Tuesday January 13, 2026 at 7:00pm in the Creekside Cafeteria. This meeting is for parent(s)/guardian(s), students do not need to attend. At the meeting, we will cover the following:

  • Trip Dates
  • Camp Cost
  • Daily Schedule
  • Lodging Accommodations
  • Student requests for cabin placements
  • Volunteering
  • Fundraising
  • Medication/Allergy Information
  • Does my student have to attend camp? What if they opt out of the trip?
  • What to do if your student says they do not want to participate?
  • How to set up a meeting
  • Etc.

To encourage attendance and participation in the meeting, we will be holding a random drawing of all meeting attendees to earn a discount off of the overall price of camp. The goal for this meeting is to have a representative for each family in attendance, so all families can start preparing for this experience.

I look forward to seeing all of you at the meeting! If you have any questions or concerns, please email me at mccamp@dexterschools.org.

Sincerely,
Marianne Mutschler

Careers in Technology/STEAM Special Area Class

In the CIT/STEAM rotation class, students have been investigating different kinds of bridges and the professionals who design and build them. They are concluding the unit by creating miniature bridge models in our Makerspace Lab.

The new Chompsaws have been a huge hit in our Makerspace. Many thanks to the Education Foundation of Dexter for supporting this exciting addition.
