DCS May Bond Update

Good Afternoon, DCS Community, 

Starting June 1, there will be a great deal of excitement across the DCS campus! As construction projects from the 2025 Bond begin, we encourage families and community members to stay informed about project updates, building access, traffic impacts, and more by visiting the following website: https://www.dexterschools.org/district/2025-bond

We hope you consider joining us on Tuesday, June 2, as we officially break ground on the Series 1 2025 Bond Projects, including: Athletic Fields, Wylie Addition, CTE Addition, New DHS Entrance & Weight Room, and Field House.  This event will also provide an opportunity to welcome and meet Dexter High School’s new principal, Dr. Theresa Stager.

While construction will soon begin on Series 1 projects, significant planning and preparation are also underway for Series 2. As a reminder, the marquee project of Series 2 is the renovation and reconstruction of the current Creekside Intermediate School as it transitions into the new middle school that will serve all DCS 7th and 8th-grade students, creating a Y5-6 Campus and a 7-12 Campus.

This exciting project is scheduled to begin in Summer 2027 and will have an impact during the 2027–28 and 2028–29 school years. During that time, students will temporarily relocate to another building within the district while construction is completed. District administration has been actively developing transition and relocation plans, and more detailed information will be shared publicly throughout the upcoming school year.
