Transportation Plans
As we plan for the 2026–2027 school year, we ask all families to please complete the district transportation form as soon as possible, even if your child will not be riding a bus. Gathering accurate transportation information helps Dexter Community Schools efficiently plan bus routes, staffing, and schedules to ensure safe and reliable service for all students. We appreciate your timely attention and partnership as we prepare for another successful school year.
Medication Pick Up
Any child that has school administered medications or emergency medications (such as epipens) needs to be picked up from the front offices by June 12th. These cannot be sent home with students and need to be given to a parent/guardian. If you need assistance in arranging a time for pick up, please reach out to our secretaries at deec@dexterschools.org.
Medications Kept or Administered at School
Any student who requires medication at school, whether daily or as-needed (PRN), must have completed medication authorization paperwork on file each year. The completed authorization form must be turned in at the same time the medication is brought to school this Fall.
Parents/guardians of students who require medication at school must submit one of the following district forms:
-
Authorization for Self-Administration/Self-
Possession of Medication (for approved self-carry students)
Parent/guardian signatures are required on all authorization forms. Please direct any questions to District School Nurse, Rachel Piersol, at piersolr@dexterschools.org
Lost and Found - Last Day for item pick up is June 10th!
All items will be donated after the school year ends. *Remember, this is a great time to order your Mabel’s Labels for summer camp and vacations - I still get them for my High Schoolers’ items because they work so well! They are so easy to use and are washer/dryer/dishwasher safe! Use the link below and DEEC PTO earns funds from your purchase!

Save the Date - Kalahari Summer Fundraiser
The Kalahari Summer Fundraiser will be held on August 16th, 2026! We know many families had a great time over Winter Break, and are already planning to return…or if you couldn’t make it in the winter, BOTH indoor and outdoor waterparks are open in the summer months! Come join us to connect with other DEEC families, and also raise funds for our PTO! Book online today! Book online today! https://book.passkey.com/e/ 51206719
Field Day is Friday, June 5th
Please make sure your child has a labeled water bottle, comfortable sneakers, hat and/or sunglasses. We also recommend a change of clothes and towel. The weather looks HOT and the kids WILL get wet - thanks in part to lots of water balloons and the Dexter Fire Department! Also, please remember to apply sunscreen in the morning before school. (Our staff are not able to apply sunscreen to students.) We will be carefully monitoring students throughout the day, making sure they stay hydrated and have shade/rest spaces available if needed. And…the stations also end with a refreshing ice cold treat from the DEEC PTO!
Field Day Schedule
-
First Grade: 8:20 AM
-
Second Grade: 10:00 AM
-
Young 5s: 11:40 AM
-
Kindergarten: 1:20 PM
We need two types of volunteers for Field Day: people to run the stations and people to escort the classrooms. Since many teachers will be moving their classrooms over the summer, they may be preparing the classroom instead of participating in Field Day. To ensure our students have enough supervision, we are looking for more volunteers to escort the classes this year. Plus people to help set up and clean up!
Please consider volunteering to help make this end of year event a success! If you're able to volunteer, please select the time and activity you’d prefer HERE: http://signupgenius.com/go/10C0C48ACA72BA6F4CE9-64102372-2026?useFullSite=true#/.
We know many families also like to donate materials to make our events successful, as well as cut down on our PTO expenses. If you would like to donate water balloons, bubble solution, etc, please visit our Amazon Wish List here: https://a.co/03C0fg90
