Dear DEEC Families,
What a championship season of learning it has been! As we wrap up another incredible school year, we want to thank you—our amazing families—for being such an important part of our team. Together, we've celebrated growth, perseverance, teamwork, and countless successes both inside and outside the classroom.
Throughout this year, our students have truly been Champion Learners—showing determination, kindness, curiosity, and a willingness to take on new challenges. We are so proud of all they have accomplished and grateful for the partnership we've shared with you along the way.
As we head into summer, we wanted to remind you that our building will undergo a reorganization and several classrooms will be relocated. Beginning next school year, the Anchor Wing will house all Young 5s and Kindergarten classrooms, while the Beacon Wing will serve all 1st and 2nd grade students. Additional logistical information will be included in our Back-to-School Newsletter in August.
As a reminder, the DEEC offices will close for summer break on Friday, June 19th. If you need assistance after that date, please contact the DCS Central Office (located at Bates) at 734-424-4100.
Thank you for being part of our DEEC team and helping make this year such a success. We wish your family a safe, relaxing, and fun-filled summer. Enjoy the break, make wonderful memories, and come back ready for another exciting year of Champion Learning!
With gratitude and summer vibes,
Brooke Stidham
Principal, Dexter Early Elementary Complex
Field Day - Thank You!
Thank you to PTO chairs Leah Stempky and Sarah Shock for organizing another amazing DEEC Field Day! We had perfect weather, and just hot enough for the students to enjoy getting soaked by the Dexter Fire Department and playing with water balloons! The day couldn’t have been so successful without the help of all our MANY, MANY parent and community volunteers - we appreciate you all! Thank you for taking the time to spend it with us at the DEEC! We’d also like to thank Hopper’s House for the discount on the Obstacle Course rental and Champion Gymnastics for bringing their equipment and coaches to run a station and teach the students some new tricks!
End of Year Reminders for 2025/2026
- Medication Pick up - Any child that has school administered medications or emergency medications (such as epipens) needs to be picked up from the front offices by June 12th. These cannot be sent home with students and need to be given to a parent/guardian. If you need assistance in arranging a time for pick up, please reach out to our secretaries at deec@dexterschools.org.
- Lost and Found - Last Day for item pick up is June 10th! All items will be donated after the school year ends. *Remember, this is a great time to order your Mabel’s Labels for summer camp and vacations - I still get them for my High Schoolers’ items because they work so well! They are so easy to use and are washer/dryer/dishwasher safe! Use the link below and DEEC PTO earns funds from your purchase!
- Fundraising Support | Mabel’s Labels | Raise Funds With Kids Labels Search for: Dexter Early Elementary Complex (DEEC)
- Yearbooks - Yearbooks were distributed to students on Friday, June 5th (unless otherwise informed by your teacher). We do have a few extra to sell. They are $20 each. First come, first served. Please contact Sarah Hunt (hunts@dexterschools.org) if you have any questions.
- Report Cards and other Student Belongings - If you miss the last day of school, your report card and end of year assessments will be mailed home. Other student belongings are available to be picked up in our main offices or vestibules until Friday, June 19th. We recommend calling ahead to the main offices to arrange a pick up time as the office staff are not always readily available to answer the doors this time of year (as we are readying the building for next school year!) - Anchor - 734-424-4120 or Beacon - 734-424-4130.
- Library Books - If you have lost a book or have questions, please reach out to our Media Staff for assistance - deecmedia@dexterschools.org. Thank you!
