Champion Learning: Develop, Educate, and INSPIRE!

DHS Update Friday, September 19, 2025

We had a wonderful week at the high school! On Wednesday, a group of our students represented Dexter at the SEC Leadership Conference, where they connected with peers around the county and gained valuable leadership skills. Meanwhile, Homecoming planning is in full swing, and our student leaders are working hard to create a fun and memorable experience for everyone. In the classroom, many students have taken their first assessments of the year and are settling into strong academic routines. We’re proud of the energy and effort our students are showing both inside and outside the classroom!

Please see the below calendars for more event details.

  1. Career Technical Education Millage On November 4, 2025, voters residing within the Washtenaw Intermediate School District’s service area–including Dexter Community Schools–will be asked to consider a 1 mill tax that would support the expansion of Career Technical Education (CTE) learning experiences from preschool through high school graduation. CTE helps students understand why they learn what they learn, from PreK-12. It opens doors to college, careers and beyond. If a CTE millage is approved by voters, students in preschool, elementary, middle and high school would benefit from new programs and expansion of existing programs. To learn more about the Career Technical Education proposal, visit www.washtenawisd.org/ ctemillage.
  2. Support the Education Foundation of Dexter! The Education Foundation of Dexter is kicking off its annual Rivalry Match fundraiser with the Chelsea Education Foundation.
