DHS Senior Update 5-8-2026

Dear Class of 2026 and families,

Happy Friday! The next few weeks are going to fly by and will be filled with many “lasts.” As the last days approach, we want to remind all students and families of the importance of positive behavior during school hours and any time you are on campus - including school-sponsored events (as well as away athletic/club events). Have fun, be smart, and represent yourself, your family, and DHS in a positive way! We want to see everyone walk across the stage on May 29th!

With just nine school days left, this is the perfect time to clean out cars and bedrooms, looking for the books that were never returned and the Chromebook chargers collected over the years. Students must have all obligations cleared before receiving their cap and gown on May 21st.

It’s time to start ordering your senior yard signs. The online store is officially open and will remain open through the end of May. Order your sign today!

AP and IB exams have begun!

Students can find their room assignments posted on the windows overlooking the media center on the 2nd floor. If you have questions, please review the presentation and recording from the exam logistics meeting. Students taking an afternoon exam should eat during A lunch.

Have you completed your Educational Development Plan (EDP) yet?

Students who have not completed their EDP are not eligible to graduate in the State of Michigan. Look for an email from Ms. Nelson with easy-to-follow directions on completing this important requirement. If you have questions, contact Ms. Nelson at nelsonk@dexterschools.org

Prom is Friday, May 22nd, at Michigan Stadium.

Tickets will go on sale the week of May 11th. Tickets will be $50 a person. If you need financial assistance, please contact Assistant Principal Rachel Hervey at herveyr@dexterschools.org. Any non-DHS student is required to have an approved guest form. Printed guest forms can be picked up in the main office.

Graduation is quickly approaching!

Make sure your calendar includes both the mandatory rehearsal (for students only) and the commencement ceremony. Review the district website for more information about the Class of 2026 graduation.

Have a great weekend and go Dreads!
