Champion Learning: Develop, Educate, and INSPIRE!

DHS Update Friday, May 22, 2026

Dear Dexter High School students and families,

As Memorial Day approaches, we pause to honor and remember the service members who gave their lives in service to our country. We also hope this long weekend provides our students and families an opportunity to rest, recharge, and enjoy time together as we head into the final weeks of the school year. Thank you for your continued support of our school community!

Go Dreads!

EFD DREAD STRONG STAFF APPRECIATION AWARDS

Looking for a meaningful way to recognize an exceptional DCS teacher or staff?  The teacher or staff member you recognize will receive a certificate including your note of appreciation and will be included in a digital slide display in the front office of their school building. Please consider showing your appreciation to an outstanding staff member with a Dread Strong Award by making a donation in their honor to the Educational Foundation of Dexter.  The deadline for the Spring awards is Friday June 5th, to award certificates before summer break.  Click on submission form or visit EFD Dread Strong Website to learn more. Thank you for your support!

Exchange Opportunity with Germany

Dexter Community Schools is excited to offer 9th grade students an exchange program with Aventinus-Gymnasium, giving students the opportunity to experience German culture, build international connections, and participate in meaningful educational experiences. In October 2026, German students will visit Dexter and stay with participating families for ten days, and in June 2027, Dexter students will travel to Germany for a ten-day stay with their exchange partners’ families, including cultural excursions to places such as Burghausen Castle, Munich, and Salzburg. Families interested in learning more are encouraged to complete the interest form. Contact Ann Pregont at pregonta@dexterschools.org or Superintendent Ryan Bruder at bruderr@dexterschools.org with additional questions.
