Greetings, Dexter Families.
Dexter Community Schools Transportation Department has been diligently working to modify routes based on information from The Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC). The WCRC has notified us that there will be numerous road closures in our area, which will require us to make multiple route changes within the district. Although we have been working on the changes for weeks, some last-minute additions from WCRC have prompted us to recalculate some routes, again. The information links for the individual WCRC projects have been included at the very bottom of this message.
PLEASE NOTE: These changes take effect Monday, April 15th. All stop time and location information has been updated to the district website on the Transportation page. Look for the gray button labeled “BUS ROUTES”. Some stops have been reduced to a larger group stop from individual addresses to accommodate the detours.
Please note: Students Y5-2 grade must have a parent present at the stop with them and to greet them. They will not be released from the bus until a parent or guardian is within eyesight of the driver. Afternoon times can vary greatly based on afterschool activities, buses could arrive up to 15 minutes before the listed time. Please continue to check the district website for updated bus information periodically. Additional road closures or detours by the WCRC may require us to make additional bus route modifications.
We understand that this is an inconvenience for families and regret the short notice, but it is beyond our control. We very much appreciate your patience and understanding.
Thank you,
