Our inaugural Shining Star is bus driver Jennifer Simonds, who has worked for the district since 2000.
Here is a letter we received about Jennifer’s work (student info redacted).
To whom it may concern,
The Lane and Lemus families would love to say thank you to Jennifer Simonds. Our grandson is a special needs student who is picked up from our home in Dexter and transported to school in Manchester. It has been a little over four years since our grandson began riding the bus with Jennifer, and to say that his school transition was rough at first would be an understatement.
Jennifer has a fantastic relationship with not only our grandson, but his whole family as well. She communicates in a calm manner with a smile, always making sure safety is first and letting us know when to approach. When she returns him home in the afternoon she always shares information regarding his school schedule or from his teachers and always makes sure that we are updated on relevant information.
Thank you for allowing us to express our appreciation for your bus driver, Jennifer Simonds.
