A Note from Mrs. Kiernan

As we head into our last full week at Wylie, we are looking forward to several exciting celebrations of learning, community, and fun!
 
Our End of Year Student/Wylie Family Celebration will take place on Tuesday, June 2 at 4:30 p.m. Volunteers are still needed to help make this event possible. If you are interested in helping, please sign up here.
 
Wylie Walkers will take place on Wednesday, June 3 beginning at 9:00 a.m. All families are welcome to join us as students showcase their Place-Based Education learning and projects from throughout the year.
 
On Friday, June 5, students will participate in our Peace and Possibilities Day, a special day focused on future goals, careers, leadership, and building a more peaceful world.
 
We are looking forward to a wonderful week full of celebration, connection, and memorable experiences as we wrap up an incredible year at Wylie!

Reminders and Important Updates


LIBRARY BOOK DEADLINES!!

All library books were due this past week. If your child still has a Wylie library book at home, please have them bring it directly to the library as soon as possible (rather than waiting for their regularly-scheduled class time). If an item has been lost, please reach out to Mrs. Grant (granta@dexterschools.org). Thank you!

End of Year Student Celebration Event--June 2nd 4:30-6:30pm

Wylie's wonderful PTT is planning an end of the year celebration for all Wylie students and families on June 2nd from 4:30-6:30. They are still in need of volunteers to help out with this event. Please sign up to help out that evening below.
 
Wylie families please join us as at the end of the school celebration with games, inflatables, and treats! Everyone is welcome to this free event but we need volunteers to make it a success. Please take a look below and sign up to help. We would appreciate any time or donation!

Dine to Donate @ Aubree's - June 2, 2026

Aubree's Dine to Donate flyer for 20% of your bill to be donated to Wylie Elementary on June 2, 2026. Present the flyer to your server at the Dexter location.

Wylie Walkers: Place-Based Education Celebration of Learning and Community Event

Many Wylie students have been actively engaged in Place-Based Education to deepen their understanding of the Dexter community, Washtenaw County, and the State of Michigan. To showcase their learning, students will host the Wylie Walk along the path behind Wylie on June 3, 2026, from 9:00 to 11:00 am (Rain Date: June 4, 2025). During this event, classes will set up interactive stations to present a variety of topics, including:
 
  • Indigenous Ways of Knowing of Michigan
  • Arbor Day and Native Tree Research
  • Sea Grant Schoolship Experience - Keeping our Great Lakes Healthy
  • Michigan Birds
  • The important spaces at Wylie
  • Invasive Grasses at Mill Creek
  • Value our Water
  • And much more!
We would like to invite families to join us in this celebration of learning. Most classes are planning on being outside from 9:00 am-11:00 am. Please reference your student’s classroom communication to confirm their specific time at the event. Although this is an outdoor event, please plan to sign in and out at the Wylie office.

Lost and Found....last round is now!

Please remember to check the school Lost & Found by the cafeteria for any items your child may need in the coming weeks all the way through the Spring Musical Concerts on Wednesday 6/11/26. After that event unlabeled items from the Lost and Found will be collected for donation.

Future 4th Grade Leadership Opportunities for Next Year!

The current 3rd graders will be given the opportunity to apply to be on the student council or be a school safety for next year. These applications are now available and were passed out this past week in your 3rd grade child's classroom and will be due by June 8.
