The Wylie Weekly June 7, 2026

Dear Wylie Families,

 

As we close out the 2025–2026 school year, I find myself reflecting on what a truly wonderful first year it has been at Wylie. It has been an absolute joy and privilege to get to know the students, families, and staff who make this school such a special place.

 

Our students continue to impress me every day with their kindness, curiosity, compassion, and enthusiasm for learning. Throughout the year, I have witnessed countless examples of students stepping forward as leaders, supporting one another, caring for their community, and embracing opportunities to make a positive difference. Wylie is filled with young people who are not only excellent learners but also exceptional stewards and citizens.

 

As I experienced Wylie Walkers for the first time this past week, I was overcome with an immense sense of pride. Seeing students confidently share their learning, showcase their projects, and demonstrate their commitment to the place they call home was a powerful reminder of what makes Wylie so unique. The stewardship, creativity, collaboration, and joy on display were truly inspiring.

 

To the students: thank you for welcoming me into your school community and for making my first year at Wylie so memorable. I am incredibly proud to be your principal and grateful for the opportunity to learn alongside you. I look forward to watching you continue to grow, achieve, lead, and make a difference in the years ahead.

 

Thank you to our families and staff for your partnership, support, and dedication throughout the year.

Have a wonderful summer! I look forward to seeing our Wylie families around the community and to welcoming our current 3rd graders back in the fall as 4th graders, ready for another year of learning, leadership, and growth.

If your student has medications at school, please arrange to pick them up from the school office on the last day of school. Keep in mind that school gets out at 11:40 on June 10. Medications will not be sent home with students. Unless prior arrangements have been made, medications will be disposed of on 6/12/26.

A huge shout out to Wylie's PTT members and all of the volunteers that made our END of YEAR Student Celebration a wonderful event. It was lovely to see so many students and families on Tuesday. The students' smiles said it all--everyone had a wonderful time! Without our PTT these events would not be possible.

All library books were due this past week. If your child still has a Wylie library book at home, please have them bring it directly to the library as soon as possible (rather than waiting for their regularly-scheduled class time). If an item has been lost, please reach out to Mrs. Grant (granta@dexterschools.org). Thank you!

Please remember to check the school Lost & Found by the cafeteria prior to Wednesday 6/11/26. On 6/11 unlabeled items from the Lost and Found will be collected for donation.
