Champion Learning: Develop, Educate, and INSPIRE!

Parent Letter 10-16-2025

Dear Families,

I hope this letter finds you and your child well, and that the start of the school year has been a smooth and positive experience. The beginning of the year is always an exciting time as students reconnect with friends, meet their teachers, and embark on new learning opportunities. Our team is committed to ensuring that every student with an IEP receives the support, resources, and encouragement they need to thrive.
As partners in your child’s education, I want to keep you informed about upcoming opportunities that may be of interest to you and your family. These events provide a chance to connect with staff, learn about available resources, and engage with other families in our community:
  • Legal Decision-Making Options for People with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
    October 21, 6:00–7:30 PM (Webinar)
Hosted by the Washtenaw Association for Community Advocacy
  • Washtenaw County Special Education Inclusion Coffee and Conversation
November 18, 8:15–10:30 AM at WISD
  • Dexter Parent Group Meeting
    November 19, 2025, 1:30–2:30 PM
    DEEC–Anchor Main Office Conference Room
The Michigan Alliance for Families also hosts a number of informative trainings and webinars throughout the year.  The calendar of their Statewide Virtual Training Opportunities has also been included.

We are deeply grateful for the trust you place in us to support your child’s growth and learning. Please know that our staff is here to collaborate with you, answer your questions, and work together to ensure that your child’s needs are met in the best possible way.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. I look forward to seeing many of you at our upcoming events and throughout the school year.

Warm regards,
