Meet Your Teachers

Mrs. Cheryl Darnton 

teaches global studies on our team. One of her life aspirations is to visit every continent on the planet. She has been to 4 of the 7 so far. Mrs. Darnton has 3 grown kids, ages 24, 26, and 29. In her spare time she loves to bike, run, XC ski, work in her garden, and sail with her family.  She also coaches cross country and track at Mill Creek. This fall marks her 19th year of teaching at Mill Creek.

Ms. Laura Krinock is a resource room teacher on the team. She earned a Bachelor's Degree from Michigan State, a Master's Degree from New York University and a teaching certificate from Eastern Michigan University. She lives in Ann Arbor with her husband and two children. She loves traveling, camping, reading, and swimming in large bodies of water. 

Mrs. Kalli Nowitzke is a Teacher Consultant on the team. This will be her 11th year teaching special education. She obtained her undergraduate degree in special education - cognitive impairments at Eastern Michigan University and her masters in reading at Dominican University.  She also has a reading specialist certification. Currently, she is a job coach for Skills and Ability for adults with special needs. She also volunteers for 826 Michigan, a non-profit writing organization in Ann Arbor. She enjoys spending time outdoors with her family. She has a 6 and 4-year-old and two dogs. She enjoys reading, writing and running.

Mrs. Marianne Mutschler teaches science on our team.  This will be her 14th year teaching at Mill Creek. Mrs. Mutschler has a Master’s Degree in K-12 Educational Leadership from her alma mater, Michigan State (Go Green!).  She enjoys spending her time after school with her husband and her five sons, ages 9, 7, 5, 3, and 1. In her spare time, she enjoys running, playing volleyball, reading, and camping.

Mrs. Laura Saulles teaches English on the team. This is her third year teaching at Mill Creek. She has earned two Master's degrees: one in English from the State University of New York at New Paltz, and one in Education from the University of Michigan. Before she started teaching, she worked as a writer in the marketing and legal fields. She enjoys spending quality time with her husband and baby boy, reading, creative writing, traveling, and kayaking.

Mrs. Macy Selecman teaches math on the team. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Math and Spanish from the University of Michigan and has a Master’s Degree in Teaching. This is her 20th year at Mill Creek. She lives in Novi and has three wonderful children (ages 12, 10 and 7). She loves to scrapbook, read, play video and board games, and attend sporting and scouting events with her family.
