Dexter High School is consistently ranked as one of the top comprehensive public high schools in the state of Michigan. Alma mater to numerous National Merit Scholars, Dexter offers a challenging curriculum which affords many educational options to students including the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme starting with the class of 2014, numerous Advanced Placement courses, and technical education programs available through the county-wide consortium. Our music programs garner top honors year after year, and we hold multiple state championships in a myriad of sports. Top that off with state and national awards for our journalism, debate, forensics, robotics, Quiz Bowl, and Ocean Bowl clubs, and it's easy to understand our Dreadnaught pride!

Dexter High School offers a well-rounded curriculum. Elective courses help students further explore life skills as well as career options.
The Dexter High School math department offers a variety of courses for all students, including many for which students may earn college credit.
The Dexter High School Science Department offers numerous and varied science courses as well as several highly competitive science clubs: Dreadbots Robotics team, the National Oceans Science Bowl, Women in Science and Technology, and more.
The Dexter High School Social Studies Department provides a vast selection of Social Science/Studies courses across the spectrum of interest. Three courses are available in the Advanced Placement track and six that can be taken to fulfill IB Diploma Programme requirements. All courses fulfill NCAA, Michigan Merit Curriculum, and/or Dexter High School graduation requirements.
The South & West Washtenaw Consortium provides Career and Technical Education to the school districts of Chelsea, Dexter, Lincoln, Manchester, Milan, and Saline. Open primarily to 11th and 12th grade students, all CTE courses are designed to equip students with entry level skills needed to gain employment, as well as prepare them for post-secondary training and education.
Dexter High School offers a variety of courses to ensure students are able to experience, discover and demonstrate their personal connection to Visual, Performing and Applied Arts.
This program is designed to allow students at Dexter High School to take dual enrolled classes through WCC while never having to leave the high school campus. The classes below can be taken for high school credit or college credit.
