DHS Counseling Department

The mission of the Dexter High School counseling department is to provide high quality, comprehensive school counseling services to all students. Our program, as guided by the ASCA National Model, is designed to help all students develop and enhance their academic, career, and personal/social strengths in order to become responsible and productive citizens. There is a commitment to individual uniqueness and the maximum development of human potential. Through the skillful use of strategic, timely, and personal interventions, counselors customize educational experiences in order to enhance capabilities, close achievement gaps among high and low performing groups and support positive choices.

Local Schools and Organizations Team Up to Support Flint Residents

Dear DCS Parents and Community,

Dexter Community Schools is partnering with several county school districts and other community organizations to help support the residents of Flint.

On Monday, January 25th, all DCS buildings will help collect donations of water and/or financial donations to support the residents of Flint. After working with Meijer, the countywide effort is able to secure entire truckloads of water (36,000 bottles) for approximately $2,000.

If you would like to donate to the people of Flint, we are offering the following options:

  • Drop off actual water to any building during the school day on Monday, January 25th, or
  • Make a financial donation at any building during the school day on Monday, January 25th, or
  • Make a financial donation to https://www.gofundme.com/tqk68e24

Thank you for your continued support of DCS, our neighbors, and each other.

Take care and Go Dreadnaughts!
