DHS Counseling Department
The mission of the Dexter High School counseling department is to provide high quality, comprehensive school counseling services to all students. Our program, as guided by the ASCA National Model, is designed to help all students develop and enhance their academic, career, and personal/social strengths in order to become responsible and productive citizens. There is a commitment to individual uniqueness and the maximum development of human potential. Through the skillful use of strategic, timely, and personal interventions, counselors customize educational experiences in order to enhance capabilities, close achievement gaps among high and low performing groups and support positive choices.

At the January 16, 2017 Board of Education Meeting, Dexter Community Schools CFO Sharon Raschke and a representative from Adams Outdoor Advertising shared an AOA proposal to lease land from the district for two digital billboards. This item will be discussed again at the January 23, 2017 board meeting and is currently slated for action at the February 13th meeting. In response to individual queries and comments on social media, Ms. Raschke compiled a FAQ and Q&A, which can be found on the Board of Education Community Messages page.
Updated proposed leases and light studies from the sign manufacturers with brightness details specific to our GPS locations will be included in the 1/23/17 board meeting packet. The packet will be available online by 4pm Friday, January 20th. Meeting materials can be found on our Board of Education packets webpage.
