The Joyce Ivy Foundation Summer Scholars Program provides scholarships for talented, high-achieving young women from the Midwest to participate in academic summer programs at some of the country's top colleges. The deadline this year is March 5, 2018. This opportunity is available to talented female sophomores and juniors.




High School Students


  • Summer College at Duke (four-week academic credit program for US students currently in grades 10 or 11 and international students currently in grades 10 – 12)
  • Summer Academy – Traditional (three-week academic enrichment program for students currently in grades 9 – 12)
  • Intensive STEM Academy (one-week academic enrichment program for students currently in grades 9 – 12)



American Legion & Michigan State Police Law Enforcement Youth Cadet Program

July 15-20, 2018

Cost: $390 per student; ask local American Legion Post to sponsor!

Class fills up fast so sign up today!  See what a day on the job is like for law enforcement!  Cadets will learn gun safety, self-defense, crash site investigation, first-aid and more.  Applications can be obtained by emailing and application deadline is May 28, 2018.


Summer Science Camps at Hillsdale College

June 24-29, 2018 

Participate in Molecular Biology Camp, Chemistry/Physics Camp or Mathematics Camp!  Registration is limited to approximately 20 eligible applicants for each camp.  A $100 fee and letter of recommendation are required with the application.  Registration Deadline:  March 15, 2018

Academic Summer Camps at Gettysburg College

Check the summer programs at and search under summer camps.  Opportunities for high school Juniors and Sophomores to attend camps over the summer months.  Camps include Camp Psych, Campaigns & Elections Academy, Writing Camp, 3D Object Modeling & Printing Camp, Coding for Robotics & Electronics Camp, and Civil War Institute Summer Conference.



Summer Writing Workshop at Denison University

 June 17-24, 2018

For more than two decades, talented high school Sophomores and Juniors have been welcomed to Denison University in Granville, Ohio, for the acclaimed Reynolds Young Writers Workshop.  The workshop is an eight-day residential program that incorporates small creative writing workshops, group sessions with Denison faculty and notable visiting writers and much more!  Financial assistance is available to families who need it.
